Famous Sam's Friday, December 18, 2009 12:00 AM

A few weeks ago, I ate at Famous Sam's. When I was little, my family would eat at this diner on & off, then for a number of years we forgot about it. This year for Father's Day, my dad decided to have lunch there and it was then I was reminded why I enjoyed eating there as a child. Pictured above is a steak sandwich with fries and a chicken noodle soup from my more recent visit.

On the topic of forgotten things, these were shot with my Lomo LC-A, which I haven't used in years (though not quite as long as the last time I ate at Famous Sam's before this year).

I got my LC-A fixed by a stranger on the internet. Though it seems to be in working condition, I've yet to develop the film! Almost nervous to. I'm glad you've taken yours out to play. All cameras need some love.

Sadly, I had my LC-A on the wrong ISO setting so most of the photos were overexposed. I got lucky with these ones, probably because they would've otherwise been backlit. Funny -- the whole time I was shooting with the LC-A, I was wondering why the shutter was so slow with ISO 400 film in it! Can you tell I've never used my LC-A often? :P

I love the vintage feel of the pics. That food one has me drooling.

Aww, these are the kind of memories you will still have when you're 80!

Oh, thanks for reminding me that I still have a roll in my Lomo to be developed! Hope you're well!

I must have been really little because I don't remember much of it. When we visited my grandparents in Winnipeg, we'd always go to this little deli/diner for lunch. I had completely forgotten about it until you mentioned your diner! Thank you for rekindling that memory, and I'm going to have to email my parents now!
