Classic Keds Monday, May 04, 2009 12:42 AM

Over the weekend I bought a pair of Keds for my upcoming trip. The Lace Ups were all I ever wore in elementary school and I went through so many pairs.

they are. although, hopefully I won't be walking along muddy paddy fields like I did last time!

my mom had a pair of white lace up keds that she "gave" me (or... i "took")... they are so cute and simple arn't they?

yulanda replied to Megan | 2009-05-04 01:52 AM | Reply

they most certainly are. i was torn between the slip ons and the lace ups.

These are pretty amazing. I have a pair in navy and I try to take care of them to last me forever.

I am not a sneaker kind of girl, but when I went to toronto and was faced with hours of walking, I was determined to find a sneaker I could wear and not feel silly in - navy blue lace up keds found their way into my heart!

oh i used to have a pair of the lace-ups which i bought after i saw baby wearing something similar in dirty dancing. they're a great, classic basic.

You know what I'm going to say, right???
Buy them two sizes too big and wear them. hoho.

Me either! I'm not sure what terrain I may be facing so I need to be prepared, unlike last time when I had to run around looking for sneakers. I like how Keds have the comfort of a sneaker without looking like a gym sneaker.

i still wear lace up keds alll over the place!

Oooh... I hope you realized that they're no longer going to be white by the time you get back from Hong Kong, right? :P

I think the slip ons suit you more!

atomica | 2009-05-05 01:44 AM | Reply

hehehhe... don't forget to show us how they look like after the trip :)
it should be raining a lot in HK these days, i guess :)
have a fabulous trip!

yulanda replied to K | 2009-05-05 02:04 AM | Reply

haha, yeah, I know. All it took was one day to ruin my new sneakers the last time I went and those were black. granted, I was walking along muddy paddy fields in the Motherland!

yulanda replied to atomica | 2009-05-05 02:04 AM | Reply

that's why I made a point of taking a shot while they were still crisp and clean ;)

thank you!

i have two pair of keds that i bought when i was in us and they are the most comfortable sneakers i have ever owned! plus slip-on's are a must in asia where you're required to take off your shoes almost everywhere. enjoy your trip!!!

Thank you! I'm sure I will.

I love those! I've been shopping around for classic white shoes and these were on the list, but I have a feeling being tall doesn't make these look so great on me...

ambika | 2009-05-07 03:07 PM | Reply

Oh, I used to wear the lace-ups as a kid, too. The minute we got them, my sister and I had to re-do them in such a way that the laces didn't criss-cross but only ran across between the eyelets.

Lefsteina | 2009-06-06 10:25 PM | Reply

Nice ones! I've never worn this kind of shoes before. Usually I wears ones that have rope to tie.
