All Wrapped Up
Thursday, May 28, 2009 12:00 AM

A couple pairs of cheapie sandals that I picked up from Mossy in Tsim Sha Tsui. Somehow I always wind up on Granville Road -- that is, if I don't find myself in Mong Kok first.

Steven Alan x Uniqlo
Wednesday, May 27, 2009 1:06 AM

I thought I'd follow up my previous post with pictures of my first clothing purchases made, oh, about twenty minutes after I bought my Muji pens. I walked into Uniqlo and found the entire Steven Alan collection on sale -- how could I say no to that? Japanese brands seemed to be the shopping theme for that day.

I (heart) Stationary
Tuesday, May 26, 2009 6:34 PM

Hurrah, working internet for my laptop! I returned from Yunnan province on the mainland late last night (the plane was delayed for several hours!) to discover my cousin had set up the wireless router. I previously couldn't get the internet to work when I plugged the ethernet cable directly into my laptop -- weird.
Anyway, this is from three weeks ago, but I wanted to show you my first purchase in Hong Kong. You'd think it'd be clothing of some sort, but since I had been suffering from Muji stationary withdrawal in Canada, it was the first place I went to as soon as I left the airport. Aside from a few Muji pens, I also bought some alphabet rubber stamps and various stationary products from a bookstore in my old 'hood when I went to school here (for a semester).
PS. Thank you everyone who has been visiting and commenting despite my lack of presence on the internet. I have over a thousand blog posts waiting for me in my Google Reader. Ack! I also have a ton of photos and purchases to share; I have no idea where to start!

Hey internet world, it's been a while. My cousin's internet connection and my Macbook have not been getting along. I've been documenting my purchases and have been dying to share it with you guys, unfortunately that may not be happening anytime soon. I'm also behind on my blog reading.
Right now I'm sitting in a hotel lobby in Taichung with my super handy iPod Touch. Taiwan has been great so far. Tomorrow I'm off to Taipei before heading back to Hong Kong. That's all for now, have a great weekend!

Tue 04.28 & Sat 05.02: Poly Tulip Skirt
Tuesday, May 05, 2009 2:23 AM

TUE. Peach blouse: vintage. Grey polyester tulip skirt: American Apparel. Blue belt: vintage. Black patterned tights: Manzi (gift from Hong Kong). Black suede wedges: Seychelles (gift from Solestruck). // SAT. Striped long sleeve tee: H&M. Bird scarf: vintage (from mammy). Pear watch pendant: Marc by Marc Jacobs. Grey polyester tulip skirt: American Apparel. Black knit tights: Calvin Klein. Grey suede flats: Zara.
Random, scattered thoughts:
a. This American Apparel skirt is a lot shorter then I expected. I knew that it was short on the model, but 99.9% of what's short on the model ends up being, like ankle length on me. Clearly I was too lazy to send it back.
b. Are the Calvin Klein tights a super dark brown or a faded black? I can't decide and neither can the friend who saw me in them.
c. On Thursday, I cleaned the Zara flats. Though they don't look brand new, they look much better then the condition they were in at the end of last summer.
d. I lost my balance and fell while taking the very last photo. I took my night table down with me and escaped with one bruise (brow bone) and two scraps (arm, leg). I am amazed that the Manzi tights survived.

Classic Keds
Monday, May 04, 2009 12:42 AM

Over the weekend I bought a pair of Keds for my upcoming trip. The Lace Ups were all I ever wore in elementary school and I went through so many pairs.

Hong Kong Love
Friday, May 01, 2009 2:33 PM

Hong Kong and I will soon be reunited. I look forward to shopping and the photographing, but you can bet the first thing I will do upon deboarding the plane is head to the nearest street stall to indulge in some curry fish balls and papaya milk. They just don't taste the same in Toronto.
The photos in this post were taken during my six month stay in 2004 and my five week visit in 2007.
