Over the last few years, a lot of American chain stores have moved north, but the one I'd been hoping for never arrived. Thank goodness for StyleSense because we now have our version of DSW.

Opened by the same company as Winners, StyleSense focuses on shoes and accessories. Like Winners, they sell designer and brand name items for less. But unlike most Winners stores, StyleSense did not disappoint.

During my visit at the Vaughan Mills location, I spotted Marc Jacobs, Givenchy, and Betsey Johnson shoes mixed in with Steve Madden, Nine West, and Jessica Simpson (who occasionally has surprisingly decent designs...like the Chloé knock-offs I should've bought two winters ago). Most shoes were about half of the original price.

If I wasn't saving up madly for New York, the Betsey Johnson Terra shoes surely would've came home with me.

Those shoes are great but you're going to find some extra great loot in NY! How much were they at StyleSense?

I am trying SO hard to not buy any more clothing until I get to New York. I did cave at the Superstore on Saturday night when I bought a turtleneck (it was only $10 though!) and a pair of boots (they were leather and $69) which I wanted to bring with me anyway.

I love that store. After my mom raved about it for weeks, she finally took me last month. I spent a whole hour seeking aisle to aisle in such delight and had high hopes of finding something nice, but was so disappointed. At the point of most despair, I found myself a pair of $90 Marc by Marc Jacobs Old Pink Pave Patent. Eek. I can't wait to go back and shop!
