Dress: Club Monaco. Pear watch pendant: Marc by Marc Jacobs. Lace tights: H&M. Heels: Nine West.

Finally getting around to some of those backdated outfit photos. I wore this to the symphony about a month ago. I've had these tights for a few years, but it was only my third time wearing them because I find them quite difficult to pull of.

the tights might be difficult to be pulled off but in my opinion you did a great job. The club monaco dress is simple but with a good twist due to the knot and fits perfectly with your tights.

Those patterned tights are hard to pull off, but they're so exquisite. They absolutely require a very simple outfit as a backdrop. But simple doesn't have to be boring--the modern cut of the dress is a great example, and I love how the pear watch is an adornment that catches the eye without competing with those tights with the tights for attention. The result is 2 different yet complementary focal points. It just...works.

Perfect outfit for the symphony, of course. Even the particular styling of the shot (the classic chair, lots of space) evokes a kind of grandeur you'd get with the opera, the theater, etc.

One of the things I like the most about your blog is how your outfits and the shots you choose have a unifying theme. Each time I read your post, it's like going to an art gallery--enjoying the art, but also getting to analyze the meaning/story behind it.

Thanks for the long insightful comment. It's interesting to see what people pick up on or what people point out that I myself didn't pick up on. I didn't notice the two focal points in my outfit, but I did think about what outfit to photograph with this chair that's been in my head for a while. Of course, sometimes I'm just lazy or can't find a background or idea to go with my outfit and take pictures against a blank wall...
