White blouse: 3.1 Phillip Lim for Gap. Skirt: H&M. Black opaque tights: unknown. Black jazz shoes: Dolce Vita.

My friend said I looked like an English school teacher. I'm not sure what she meant by that. Looking at the photo, I wish I included the yellow bag I used today because the outfit could benefit from a dash of yellow. The skirt is dark brown and while I generally don't mix brown and black, this skirt works very well with black. There are always exceptions to that so-called rule. The tights are ancient. I think I've had them since high school.

these tights must have such a good quality if they are still wearable! I love your "English school teacher" Look, I would wear the same although I would break the rule of "No Mix of black and brown" :)

What sort of equipment do you use to take photos? They're so lovely every time! Was this photo taken without flash with an indoor light? I'm so curious :)

I don't really follow those types of rules, but I do think that only certain browns look good with black or a certain amount. I don't rule out the possibility of combining them though.

I think I use the same camera as you -- the XTi, but with the 17-40 f4 L lens. And yup, you are indeed right about the lighting.
