Casual Day Monday, April 07, 2008 6:56 PM

Cream blouse: Argyle Centre (Hong Kong). Scarf: Suzhou City Kaidi Silk Co. Ltd. (China). Blue straight leg jeans: Old Navy. Gold sparkley socks: H&M. Yellow & gray satin ballet flats: Joe Fresh Style. Bracelets: H&M. Navy leather purse: vintage.

During the early days of spring, when the temperature first rises above 5°C and the sun is shining, Torontonians mistake it for summer and break out the tee shorts and shorts and walk around town without a coat or jacket. Is this a phenomenon that only happens here or does this occur in other parts of the world? Once the warmer weather is here to stay, people dress sensibly again.

Regular visitors may have noticed that I like to pull my hair up in a ponytail. This will likely be one of the rare times you'll see my hair down. I finally went to get a hair cut today after not having scissors touch my hair for six months. Well, aside from the odd time I trimmed my bangs. And just for the record, I left the house with a coat. 12°C is warm, but not that warm.

Here is a close up of my blouse for Fruchtzwerg.

thank you my dear, the blouse is even sweeter than I thought. No wonder that people keep on giving you compliments for it :) Very lovely.

BTW, did you change something on your settings of your blog? I wonder why my Google Reader didn't notice this post as a new entry....strange..

Nope, I didn't. It showed up in my Google Reader. But in the past, I've noticed that there is usually a delay before it shows up. I only posted this a few minutes ago. Maybe it'll show up in a little while!

Yaaa, I noticed that too. It was only about 10 degrees in Mtl today (not counting the wind) and I saw girls wearing leggings with flats and shorts, guys in t-shirts.Canadians are weirdos eh.

You look lovely, I love the detail on the shirt. People definitely dress inappropriately at the first glimpse of warm weather everywhere...can we help it though? I get so excited with sunny days myself!

I know, we Torontonians are nutty, huh? I too wore a coat today. A lightweight one (from Club Monaco) but I was glad of it while walking home... K

That blouse is freaking BEAUTIFUL! And I love the design of your site. I'm jealous! :P

yulanda replied to gwun. | 2008-04-07 10:12 PM | Reply

They raised the price! I saw it at Maple on Granville Road for $70 (according to an e-mail I sent you). And in a mall in Sham Shui Po for $60. I paid $130 for it. Do you remember what the original price the girl asked for was? Some "discount" she gave me!

Welllll...I wear tights in the winter which in some ways are about the same as leggings. but yeah, this time of the year is always amusing to see how people are dressed.

Oh, I'm all about packing away the bulky parka, but it's funny to see what extremes people take the first peek of sunshine to.

& thanks :)

I thought it was pretty chilly today, especially out of the sun. However, a guy wearing just a t-shirt made me feel so overdressed in a cardigan and a coat (lightweight as well).

aw, thank you :)

Hehehe I totally noticed the weather phenomenon, too! In fact, I was one of the offenders. :P I KNEW it was too cold to wear just a spring jacket the other day, but I did it anyway because I wanted to wear my new bright yellow jacket from Joe Fresh. I wasn't the only silly one. We ended up eyeing the one smart friend (in her winter parka) jealously all night...

Your hair is super cute and it really suits you. I was thinking of getting bangs again, too! And not these little too-long sideswept things I pretend are bangs. I'm itching to chop it all off but I must resist.

I'm going away on vacation - it's confirmed! I bet you can guess where. :D I'll definitely be e-mailing you about it in the near future.

Now it's at my reader and indeed with some delay, I guess I'm too fast and too unpatiently in terms of reading your posts :)

130$? But you're talking from HK Dollars, right? Or do you mean CAD?

Oh and I forgot to say that I like your hair, the bangs look good on you. I can't pull them off but I like them on other people.
6 months of not cutting the hair? Sounds like me, I'm very lazy in terms of caring my hair ;)

ohhh i love your shirt!

thanks- you've just given me an idea of what to wear later =D

yulanda replied to K | 2008-04-08 12:03 PM | Reply

Haha :P I'm still going through my rotation of fall coats that I didn't get the chance to wear last fall! Btw, my friend has a bright yellow Joe Fresh coat too. I wonder if it's the same one.

Thanks! I have a love/hate relationship with heavier bangs. Once I have them, I miss sideswept bangs (and I still think I look better in pictures with those), but once I've had sideswept for a while, I get bored of them and want bangs again. Especially since they're less fussy then sideswept bangs, at least for me.

And.....you're going to HONG KONG!!! You lucky girl!

yulanda replied to fruchtzwerg | 2008-04-08 12:07 PM | Reply

$130 HKD. If it was $130 CAD, I'd demand better quality!

Thank you. I think sideswept bangs suit my face more, but every now and then I get bored of them and get these kind of bangs to change it up. I think it makes my face look rounder :P But it takes less time to fix them in the morning.

Thanks! Do post a picture of your outfit :)

gwun. replied to yulanda | 2008-04-08 09:22 PM | Reply

going to hong kong is LUCKY? are you see? hoho.

yulanda replied to gwun. | 2008-04-08 09:29 PM | Reply

It's only lucky if they don't have to hang out with gwun. hohoHO!

gwun. replied to yulanda | 2008-04-11 01:07 AM | Reply

yes.. that's very lucky. ho your head.

fruchtzwerg | 2008-04-11 01:56 AM | Reply

okay 130 CAD would be way too expensive for Hong Kong standards but in HKD it's still a good deal :)

I see so many nice sideswept bangs on other girls but I think my "bangs" are too long and can't consider as real bangs. I have a long face so I should get some bangs to shorten the "horse face" ;) but then again I don't want to spend too much time on my hair.

I admit to falling in the warm weather trap, but how can we help it? ;)

I love the details on that blouse, you look adorable!
