3.1 Phillip Lim for Gap Tuesday, April 22, 2008 11:49 PM

Finally got around to checking out the Gap Design Editions last Thursday. I've been looking for a white shirt for the past couple of months so the collection came at a good time. Overall, I found the fabric to be a bit stiffer then I would've liked, but at least the shirts (and one dress) weren't see through.

In the end I picked up one of Phillip Lim's designs and then I went to Holt Renfrew to weep over these two beauties with the knowledge that I'll never be able to afford even the zipper (and, er, to borrow their facilities because it's nice and clean and I love how they have photographs of Christo & Jeanne-Claude's work lining the hallway to the washroom).

beautiful!!! It's looks superb on you :) Makes me want so much to go to the USA as well because the € is so strong right now compared to the USD :P

Yeah, I want to cross the border to go shopping too, except now gas is so expensive! I was surprised (but happy) to see this collection cost the same in Canada as it does in the States. Even though we've been at par with the $USD since late last summer, a lot of stores are still charging more in Canada then in the US.

oh lucky girl that they don't charge you more money! And you're right, gas is way too expensive right now, as well here in Germany. Thank good that I can use public transportation and am not depend on my car.

i checked them out the other day & my initial reaction was that the fabric felt stiff as well.

I just discovered your blog and I love it. All the pictures are amazing and so is your style =).

Love this blouse, beautiful!

I guess they're trying to achieve the "crisp" white shirt. Very crisp, indeed!

Thank you. Your blog looks fun; I added it to my Google Reader so I can continue reading it :)

Is the public transportation good in your city? I miss the public transportation in HK. It's so much better then in Toronto and the system in the suburbs.

Finally got to the Gap at the Eaton Centre to check these out today. Surprised by how many are left, given the buzz - and given how well made they are. I know what you mean about the stiffness, but I actually think they'll wear really well and - unlike the last collection (as you mentioned) they aren't see-through. Looks great on you, btw. K

Same, but I'm glad we don't have to deal with the mayhem that is associated with the H&M collaborations. The construction was a selling point for me. Hopefully after a couple washes it'll be a little less stiff -- at the moment I find it hard to tuck in because of that.

Ohmigod! Your photography and styling is superb. I can't believe I've never seen it before (though I do recall your name being linked on Fruchtzwerg's Island). I'm going to add you to my blogroll now.

P.S. Get those gold tights!

Thank you and thanks for linking me up! I'm going to get those gold tights as soon as I figure out which other colours I want. Actually I already have a pair (from H&M), but they're not as opaque as I would like and they don't seem as bright after I washed them with some dark colour clothing. Besides, one can never have too many pairs of golden yellow tights!

My pleasure. :)

We Love Colors tights are my favorites; for maximum opaqueness, be sure to get the "Nylon/Lycra MicroFiber Solid Color Tights" (style #1053). They do have a slight, slight sheerness when you bend your knees a lot (say, if you were to squat down), but otherwise I am very impressed by them.

Alright, I'll keep that in mind. I was already leaning towards that style and I'm glad to hear they're opaque enough.
