Canvas Wedges Tuesday, March 04, 2008 12:17 AM

This afternoon I stopped by Old Navy to take a look at the canvas wedge sandals I'd been eyeing on their website for several weeks. Since their website listed the price at $34.50 USD, my guess was the sandals would cost closer to $40 CAD.

I was definitely in for a surprise when I popped in and saw them already on sale for $10.99. I quickly scooped them up and considered their platform sandals too (also $10.99), but sadly the way it fit my heel made it feel like it was sliding off the side.

Also, I just realized the canvas wedges retailed for $29.50 in Canada. This is the first time I've seen something from an American company selling for less in Canada. I know the $CAD is at par with the $USD, but how strange.

lovely platforms! I have seen some similiar sandals at H&M but they are not by canvas. The have satin straps. I will make a post as soon as I got my hands on them ;)
Btw: Missing your emails :(

I know which ones you're talking about :) Those are lovely too and I considered getting those ones for a while, but I fare so much better on wedges then I do on heels.

I know, I'm lazy! and I've been a little busy the last week. But mostly lazy. oops.

Wedges seems to be more stable, that's true. I'm still not sure if I can walk in the H&M ones. I will try them out after my exam.

It's nice that you got them for such a great price. I have a pair of wedge sandals that look similar, and they are great for the Spring/Summer, but I love how you turned them into colder-weather staples with stockings.

Thanks. When I first saw these on Old Navy's website, I already imagined them with tights, but wasn't sure how canvas would look winterized. I guess pretty good :)

ooh la la - I was thinking about the H&M ones too, very similar, similarly pretty! However, since they're on sale, as pointed out by you (although according to their website only from 34,50 to 29,90$), I think I'll finally check them out. I realized they look so much better in real life than on their site, however dismissed them, because the bf didn't like them. I shall ignore him, though.

Haha, yes, ignore him in the case of these sandals! I find the sale pricing inconsistent between Old Navy, the store, and oldnavy.com.
