Fiona Cape

During my high school days I was not overly fond of Club Monaco -- probably because I was sick of seeing their black cloth tote bags that all the girls carried. However, around the time the company was sold to Polo Ralph Lauren (not a Polo fan though), I began to take notice of their clothing. Slowly it became one of those stores I always take a browse in when I'm at the mall.
One thing I love about Club Monaco is their packaging.

Their plastic bag is super thick and super matte. If only it didn't dent and crease so easily. I had this one stuck inside a tote bag (not a black cloth CM one!) that I spent the day lugging around so it's extremely wrinkled.

I love stripes and I love their black & white striped tissue paper. Luckily the salespeople never press down hard on their emblem sticker so I can peel it off and reuse the tissue paper.

Another thing I love about Club Monaco are their amazing sales. This sweater cape was originally $149, but I bought it at $29. Of course, my first choice colour (cream) was sold out, but at 80% off I shouldn't complain.

Hi Yulanda! I've really enjoyed reading your new fashion blog :)
The cape looks interesting. What is it made of? I haven't been to Club Monaco for years now!

Thanks!
The label reads:
60% wool
20% nylon
15% angora
5% cashmere

I always missed Club Monaco when I'm in a mall, I really don't know why. From their website I like their stuff but they are really pricey but the sale sounds fabulous!
Reminds me a lot of COS and your post gave me an inspiration to write something about COS again :)

The prices at CM have gone up a lot over the last few years and sadly they closed all their outlets in Toronto. but their items go on sale quickly and I usually am able to get what I want. I haven't paid over $49 for an article of clothing from CM in a long time. Of course, nothing beats paying $9 on things that originally cost $79 and $109.
I wish we had a COS here. Considering how long it took for H&M to expand to Canada I shouldn't get my hopes up.

fantastic sale!!! I'm jealous!
COS is wonderful, most of my items by COS are bought on sale because the original prices are too pricey for me. I only bought once a blouse for the full price because I really want it and it was an okay price. You have to visit me and then you will able to shop at COS ;)

Haha, funny you should say that. About a week ago, for about five minutes, I seriously contemplated going to Germany. Well, I was looking at plane tickets to Stockholm, but there are no direct flights from Toronto. There's either a stopover in London, Frankfurt, or Munich. If I stopover in Germany I can travel to Stuttgart to visit my friend (who used to live in Paderborn).
But a new computer and camera lens is more important then travel at the moment :\
